Woman Dies after Quarrelling with another Person Police Detain Suspect

The spokesperson of the Gambia Police Force, Inspector Foday Conta has told Foroyaa that one Amie Koroma, a 25 year old native of Sabi village in the Upper River Region (URR), passed away on Monday, 26 June 2017, around 5pm after she had a serious quarrel with one Mrs. Mbaye Sankareh of the same village.

PRO Conta posited that immediately after the quarrel, Mrs. Sankareh collapsed and was rushed to Sabi Health Center, from where she was later referred to Basse Major Health Center for medical treatment, but was pronounced dead, after being examined by doctors.

‘‘The body of the deceased was referred to Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital for postmortem, so as to determine the actual cause of death. In the meantime, the suspect, Amie Koroma, is under police custody and helping them with their investigations,’’ he concluded.
