By Sulayman Bah Willy Abraham has said he is not aware of reports of Bonu Johnson’s imminently taking over as Real de Banjul’s coach. Johnson, whose contract as Gambia CHAN team’s coach was not renewed by the football federation, has been touted to join the 2014 GFF First Division champions as a gaffer. Some reports even suggest that negotiations for the former Gambian coach to switch to the All Whites is at an advanced stage with Real’s club board as the replacement of coach Amat Cham, who was only signed last year. Speculations over Johnson moving to the capital-based outfit began after Cham, who has one more season left on his two-year deal, finished his first term without a trophy. But club President Abraham who is at the heart of any contract dealings at the club, insists he is not aware of any moves linking his team to Bonu Johnson. “I’m not aware of it. As far as I’m concerned, Amat is the head coach of the club. He has a contract, he’s doing his work and we have no problem with Amat Cham. I’m not speaking with any coach: not in Gambia, not abroad,” Willy Abraham told Foroyaa Sport. Real de Banjul didn’t only have to contend with a trophy-less campaign but also crashing out of the CAF Champions League – a continental club competition they’ve so much invested in.]]>
