On Saturday, torrential rain led to the flooding of at least 32 rice farms in Sutukoba resulting to their destruction. An agency exists to deal with and manage disaster, which is provided for by law. It should always be prepared to deal with disasters as they arise.
Foroyaa will reach out to the National Disaster Management Agency to find out their level of preparedness and whether they intend to handle this particular disaster and if so whether any assessment has been done.
Foroyaa will also find out whether fewer and less serious reports of disasters have been made and whether these are being handled without much publicity.
How prepared are they in terms of human and material resources? What are their challenges?
