QUESTION OF THE DAY
The people of African Descent who have been associated with the organization of the Bi –Annual Root Home Coming Festival have been asking whether the current government will continue to host the event in The Gambia. The Ministry of Tourism and the Board should open up dialogue with those associated with the festival in order to do a cost benefit analysis before 2018 so that the country will determine whether to host the event or not. The event did provide those in the Diaspora with the opportunity to link themselves to their roots and give them a sense of belonging. Foroyaa will contact the Ministry and the Board to find out what plans are under way in hosting the event.
