QUESTION OF THE DAY
This question was raised during a press conference convened by PDOIS and its partners and addressed by the Secretary General on Sunday 8th May, 2022.
According to him, people are satisfied having photos with him and treating him like a celebrity but gave him only 35,000 votes when he requested to be their president. He said it is obvious that people do not want him to be their president and it will be foolhardy to continue to aspire to wish to be their president. He however emphasized even though he had a four-year term to be secretary general of PDOIS his plan is to vacate as soon as possible so that he would be free to be a sovereign Gambian citizen to enable him to engage in the battle of ideas for the triumph of what he stands for and will always stand for.
He emphasized that he is not going to be seeking the office of president but will be fully ready to ensure that the person who represents what he stands for becomes president and he is not relenting until that happens and that he is more active now than as ever that substantive democracy triumphs over formal laissez faire democracy.
