QUESTION OF THE DAY
WHY DID THE PRESIDENT SUSPEND HIS NATIONAL ADDREESS TO THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY?
The National Assembly could not have prepared to receive the President on 17 March without consultation between the Speaker and the Office of the President. It is therefore strange that National Assembly members should be kept waiting to receive the President only to be told at the eleventh hour that he would not be coming and that their session is adjourned indefinitely. The Nation is calling for answers. It is announced that the President will address the National Assembly today. It is hoped that it will become clear why he could not turn up when he was expected to.
