Who is behind the closure of radio stations?

QUESTION OF THE DAY
Who is behind the closure of radio stations?
One would have thought that the existence of an incoming and outgoing government president would inject a spirit of neutrality in all the agents of the state so that public service would be devoid of party allegiances and consideration.
Radio stations are meant to cover the views of all sides of the political spectrum. Only an outgoing government without self-confidence would shut down a radio station instead of being ready to go on air to defend one’s position. Any government that is afraid of the media is a weak government that cannot defend itself. A strong government will engage in a battle of ideas with its opponents rather than close the medium for the broadcasting of divergent views.
Gambia has changed forever. No one will be able to suppress the media after the 19th of January 2017. Notwithstanding this the media needs protection and all hands must be on deck to facilitate that protection.
Foroyaa will make enquiries to find out where the draconian measures are coming from.
