WHO COULD CONTEST FOR THE POSITION OF FLAG BEARER OF THE OPPOSITION?
Any presidential candidate who is a signatory of the coalition agreement could have contested for the position of flag bearer for the opposition, whether one is a member of a political party or not.
The election process itself is transparent and governed by rules made jointly by the signatories of the agreement and an independent returning officer. Each party or independent candidate is entitled to get 10 delegates from each administrative area making a total of 70. It is these delegates that have a right to vote for the flag bearer of their choice at the convention.
