QUESTION OF THE DAY
According to section 77(3) of the Constitution,
“The Vice-President shall answer in the National Assembly for matters affecting the President, and the President shall be entitled to send a message to the National Assembly to be read on his or her behalf by the Vice-President.” Full stop!
So only the vice president can deliver a message from the president to the National Assembly. But at the moment there is no substantive holder of the position of vice president.
This again serves as a reminder that the appointment of a vice president is urgent. How soon will the president appoint a vice president? Only time will tell.
