By Mustapha Jallow Foroyaa has received report that the Principal of Brufut Upper Basic School, Mr Muhammed Jahateh, has been missing since Friday, 5 December, 2014, after leaving home for a purported meeting. When this reporter visited the wife of Mr. Jahateh at her home in Sukuta on Saturday to enquire about the whereabouts of her husband, she said Mr Jahateh told her that he was going to attend a meeting but is yet to return. “I’m confused and don’t know where my husband is. I last heard from him when he phoned yesterday to inform me that he was going to a meeting,” said the distraught looking wife. She disclosed that she has been trying all the four phone numbers of the husband, but could not reach him as they are all switched off. “The only calls I get are from anonymous callers with different numbers who enquire about the whereabouts of my husband,” revealed Mrs. Jahateh. When contacted again yesterday, Monday, 8 December 2014, to get an update on the situation, the wife maintained that her husband has still not returned or called. This reporter also visited the school yesterday but was told that the Principal went to Banjul for a meeting. When asked about the venue of the meeting, the official of the school said he does not know. Foroyaa has earlier reported about the incident on the reaction of the students when they received information that their school ground was to be taken over by some private individuals, consequent to a court order. It was also reported that the situation calmed down later.]]>
