Abdou Jammeh commonly known as Anabi, a prison officer and a native of Kanilai, has gone missing for eight now months now.
Serreh Jarjue, the wife of Mr. Jammeh and the mother of their three children, told Foroyaa that her husband left home on a Tuesday in January, this year, to go to work at Mile Two prison on an afternoon shift but never returned home.According to the distraught looking wife, she called the mobile phone of her husband on the night he was supposed to close from work but someone else received the call and that when she asked about him, she was told that her husband was inside.

“I again called in the morning and the same person received the call and when I told him that my husband is supposed to close work by now, the receiver of the call told me that yes my husband was supposed to close by now but that there was an emergency,” said Madame Jarjue.

Mr. Jammeh’s wife said she had made several visits to her husband’s work place but what his workmates would always be telling her is “we do not know anything about Abdou Jammeh”.

Madam Jammeh said she has been making several attempts to meet with the Director General of Prison to enquire about the whereabouts of her husband but have always been unsuccessful. “For eight months now I have been trying to see either my husband or the Director General of Prison but without any success,” she disclosed.

‘Anabu’ Jammmeh’s wife said she is calling on the prison authorities to help her trace her husband as their children are no longer going to school because of the lack of means. “Since their father, the sole breadwinner is away I’m grappling with responsibility to feed them which is very difficult for me,” lamented the desperate wife.
