The state has confirmed that Ebrima Solo Sandeng is dead. It had to wait until a writ of habeas corpus is filed before coming out with the truth.
Ebrima Solo Sandeng has a wife and children. Any person under custody has rights. They are required to be taken before a court within 72hours. If a person is dead and could not be taken to court his family should be informed to ensure that proper burial takes place.
The state should look into this whole matter and take the measures that are necessary to put the past behind us and open a new page by releasing all those charged or convicted in connection with the arrest of Ebrima Solo Sandeng and his death and conduct diligent investigation into the circumstances of his death.
