What ought to be done is for the economic intelligence unit of the government to conduct a special study on the timber trade and come up with a proper assessment of the legality of the trade and what could be legitimately accrued by traders in particular and the government.
The trade needs to be sanitized. Scandals do not reflect accountability and transparency. They should be conducting proper investigation to know how to guide the process towards legitimate trade. We will follow developments to its logical conclusion and inform the readers.
