There are two major Bills in the hands of the National Assembly that are of major national concern – the Appropriation Bill 2025 and the Constitution of The Republic of The Gambia (Promulgation) Bill 2024. The first reading of the Constitution of The Republic of The Gambia (Promulgation) Bill is yet to be done.
As far as the Appropriation Bill 2025 is concerned, the National Assembly has fourteen days to pass the Bill, that is not later than 27th December. The amended Constitution reads:
“The National Assembly shall, within fourteen days of the introduction of the Appropriation Bill, give consideration to and pass the bill.”
