The councils are required by law to use 60 percent of their revenue on development to provide adequate markets, car parks and other public amenities in all wards. It is not in line with human decency for a cat and mouse scenario to be rehearsed on a daily basis as vendors try to escape security nets in order to sell their produce in the street.
There must be a solution to this problem other than the court action. Foroyaa will try to reach out to the councils to find out how they intend to address the vulnerability of the vendors
