A ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hesbollah will be a step in the right direction as thousands of citizens of Israel gather to call for a ceasefire and a release of the hostage. A failure to move in that direction will only lead to more deaths and injuries in both Israel and Lebanon. The military analysts who felt that the killing of the Hebollah leadership would lead to the crumbling of the resolve of its armed combatants are being proven to be wrong as missiles are constantly being targeted to hit all parts of Israel even though Israel dominates the air to bomb facilities in all areas of Lebanon.
The world should not wait for the inauguration of a new president of the US. The quality of information being gathered by military intelligence has compelled the Israeli prime minister to accuse the armed and security forces of Israel of not informing him of the realities they are confronting today in Gaza and Lebanon.
