QUESTION OF THE DAY
The media, both electronic and print, are giving vivid pictures of the havoc being caused by rain. What is however not coming out very vividly are the measures being taken to address the suffering of the victims. There is need to have a coordinated and comprehensive response. The needs of the victims should be highlighted and the measures available through state or non state intervention must also be evident so that proper assessment could be made to know the limitations to be addressed in order to give an adequate response to the escalating disaster.
Foroyaa will visit the offices of those who are responsible in order to find out the lessons they have learnt so far and how they intend to apply them to give an adequate response to the current plight of the victims.
