The civil service is divided into 12 grades. Those in grade 1 receive 17,907 dalasis per annum. These are generally drivers, cleaners, watchmen, messengers, caretakers. Such people receive D1,492.25. Those in grade 2 receive approximately D19,606 dalasis per annum or D1,633.83 per month. Those in grade 3 receive 23,868 dalasis per annum or D1,989. This involves typists, technicians, record clerks and so on and so forth. We will continue with the rest of the grades in subsequent editions.
