QUESTION OF THE DAY
As land disputes increase and threats of conflict surface alternative dispute measures should be taken to try to resolve land disputes. Gambia is an extremely poor country and building homes is a lifelong achievement. To pull down a lifelong achievement is as good as sending a person to his or her grave.
Legality is the basis of determining right or wrong under a democracy. Dispute resolution and compensation of aggrieved parties with alternative sites are not alien to democracy. Win-win measures should be applied to put an end to land disputes.
