Question of the day

The National debate on youth empowerment is now centred on the funds provided by the European Union to address the challenges of youth migration.

Officials are thinking of skills training while many youths are thinking of income generation projects. Many young people are already engaged in Poultry, Cashew farming and processing, retail trade and so on and so forth. What is needed is the creation of project appraisal Committees by the relevant state Ministry in collaboration with IOM that would invite young people who are deported to bring their projects for appraisal. They should be ready to accompany the youth in the implementation of their projects and the separation of seed money from profit so as to make their businesses sustainable. The National debate should be intensified so that conclusions could be reached to empower the youth especially those who are deportees.
