The committees of the National Assembly are advisory bodies of the National Assembly. They make proposals and recommendations for the consideration of the whole National Assembly. After the committees complete their review of the draft estimates and submit their recommendations to FPAC, the whole National Assembly is now seated to make a decision on the draft estimates as presented to the National Assembly.
It is however becoming clear from a review of some of the items of the agencies that the final decision of the Assembly may not be in line with the recommendations of the committees. For example while FPAC made a recommendation of a cut of the budget of the office of the president no such cut was made.
The estimates to the office of the president stood as proposed at the tune of Eight hundred and Seventy-Two Million Six Hundred and Twenty-One Thousand Two Hundred and Fifty-One Dalasi (D872,621,251).
