Foroyaa was reliably informed that one Wandifa Kanyi, a resident of Lamin village, was arrested and taken away by five men who identified themselves as agents of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), yesterday 2 January, 2017 around 3pm.

According to Ebrima Darboe, they were at the H.S. Kanyi shop along the Kombo Sillah highway at Churchill Town when someone entered and asked for the t-shirts with the slogan ‘Gambia has decided’ which was sold to him at D150.

“After selling the t-shirt to the person he then left but after few minutes, 5 men walked into the shop and told Kanyi that they also needed 50 t-shirts of ‘Gambia has Decided’ and asked how much these would cost them. We told them the amount. It was then that they told him (Kanyi) that they are NIA operatives and that he was under arrest. They then led him to a waiting white pickup with the registration number: BJL 7173 J and drove away towards the direction of Banjul,” said Darboe.

He said as at now they do not know where he is being held, adding that they are currently making efforts to locate him.
