By Sailu Bah Following the death of some of the assailants on state house on 30th December 2014,Bakary Bojang, alias “Gosso” as reported by the Gambian Government 18 days ago, Foroyaa has been making efforts to enquire about the situation of the corpses as to whether they have been buried or handed over to the concerned families. The family of Bakary Bojang, the mentally ill person from Banjul who was said to have been killed during the shooting incident, told Foroyaa that they are yet to be allowed access to the corpse which is said to be at the mortuary of Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH). A close family source revealed that they have been making unsuccessful efforts for the corpse to be handed over to them so that they will arrange for a fitting religious burial of their loved one. When this reporter visited the EFST Hospital, he was told that the Public Relation Officer (PRO) was out of his office at the time. Mr. Dodou Jammeh, the hospital PRO told this reporter on phone that he is not in a ‘better position’ to shed light on issue of the corpses, adding that the armed forces should be contacted. Foroyaa is still making efforts to enquire about the situation of the said corpses at the Banjul mortuary from the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) PRO and will accordingly report its findings when he is accessed.]]>
