UDP CAPTURES THE MOST SEATS

In a highly contested National Assembly elections held on Thursday 2017, the United Democratic Party (UDP) led by Lawyer Ousainou Darboe, won thirty one out of 53 seats. The National Reconciliation Party (NRP) led by Hon. Hamat Bah captured five seats, the Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) led by Mama Kandeh five, the Alliance for Patriotic Re-orientation and Construction (APRC) five, the People’s Democratic Organisation for Independence and Socialism (PDOIS) led by Halifa Sallah four, the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) led by Mr Omar Jallow two and one independent MP. The Gambia Moral Congress (GMC) led by Lawyer Mai Fatty and the Gambia Party for Progress and Development did not succeed in winning a seat.
