The Brikama Magistrates’ Court has granted bail in the sum of D100,000 to two Nigerian women accused of stealing D11,000 from a Gambian woman during an alleged incident late last month in Brikama Nyambai.

The accused, Mary Offor and Pascal Uzeochi, appeared before Principal Magistrate A.O. Mendy on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. They pleaded not guilty to two charges: conspiracy to commit a felony and stealing. According to court documents, the women allegedly stole the sum of D11,000 from one Elizabeth Mendy on or about May 27, 2025.

Prosecutors Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police J. Sowe and Corporal 5426 Mariama Badjie represented the Inspector General of Police. The accused were unrepresented in court.

The prosecution did not oppose bail. Magistrate Mendy subsequently admitted each of the accused to bail in the amount of D50,000, totaling D100,000 for both, with the condition that each provide one Gambian surety.

The case has been adjourned to June 18, 2025, for continuation.
