Officers of the Gambia Police Force (GPF) stationed at Old Yundum Police Station, have arrested two men aged between 25 and 30 years old, in Tawto village, for their involvement in an alleged theft on Monday March 25th 2024.

According to Cadet Assistant Superintending Modou Musa Sisawo, the Deputy Spokesperson of the GPF, officers of the Police Force recovered thirteen sheep during a raid in a compound in the village, and said subsequent investigation revealed that two of the sheep were reported stolen by their rightful owner.

“The alleged suspects claimed that the sheep in their possession were purchased for business purposes, but were unable to provide convincing details to that effect,” he said.

PRO Sisawo said while the GPF remains dedicated to saving lives and property, the public is urged to cooperate with ongoing investigations in this case, by providing them with the relevant information to aid the officers in the identification of the stolen sheep.
