The victims are still waiting for redress while people spend endless hours debating whether the former president is to return to The Gambia or not.
All Gambians should focus on the victims and speak with one voice to ensure that their concerns are uppermost in the recommendations of the TRRC.
The focus has been on truth and reconciliation before reparation. Truth and reparation should come to facilitate reconciliation.
The TRRC would be a meaningless exercise if it does not lead to the healing of the sores of the victims.
Their lives matter and satisfaction matters.
