In what was a title-chasing clash, Medina United and Elite United shared the spoils on Tuesday in week 13 of the second division league played at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama.
A goalless result despite a tense display and scores of chances missed from both sides in the first half followed by two goals in the second period. Medina United’s substitute Buba Manneh scored late to cancel Elite United’s one-nil lead scored by Omar Jatta.
The draw gave Medina United a valuable point and maintained them at the summit of the league with 26 points, two points ahead of second-placed Elite United. Both teams have been battling it out at the top for a while and with the season still having more matches to play for, expect twists and turns ahead.
On the same Tuesday, Gambia Ports Authority defeated Serrekunda United 2-1 at the Bakau Mini Stadium and temporarily moved to third position 24 points while Serrekunda United continued to struggle at the bottom of the table. Elsewhere, Unique Global and Baalor Sarr match ended 1-1 at the Ousman Saho Football Field.
