‘Think Equal’ Concludes Training on Early Childhood Education

‘Think Equal’ organisation under the purview of ‘Future In Our Hands’-The Gambia (FIOHTG), has recently concluded a day’s training for Early Childhood Development focal point, staff from the directorate of the Early Childhood Development and 17 cluster monitors within Region 2, at the FIOHTG conference hall in Kotu South.

The training covered essential aspects such as the organisation’s origin and mission, and the significance of early childhood education.

In her opening remarks, Jainaba T. Sarr, the Country Director of FIOHTG, expressed gratitude to Leslee and the attendees for their commitment in monitoring the programme and taking ownership of its success. With the support of the Ministry and Government, the programme is now integrated into the curriculum, setting an example for the rest of the world.

“By reducing crime rates and violence against women, we can create a safer and more inclusive society. It is therefore crucial that we address the concerns raised at the national dialogue and work towards a country where women feel safe and empowered,” Director Sarr stated, and extended her heartfelt thanks to Leslee, the founder of ‘Think Equal’ organisation and by extension David, the donor whose generosity has ensured that every single child across The Gambia benefit from this transformational programme, and to all the participants, for their dedication and support. She concluded that the continuous training and collaboration is essential for the success of the program, and looks forward to work together to make a positive impact.

Leslee, the founder of ‘Think Equal’ organisation, noted that their mission is to bring about global change in early childhood education through social and emotional learning for the general well being and social justice of the people. He added the importance of education in shaping a better future and highlights the need for the education system to adapt to the challenges of the modern world.

Aminata Ceesay, the project manager for ‘Think Equal’ organisation, emphasized the importance of working together with stakeholders to increase awareness of the programme. She urged all cluster monitors to collaborate closely with FIOHTG’s pedagogical advisors and assistants to ensure that every child in the Gambia benefits from the program.
