Many protocols have been ratified on the subject. Countries have made domestic laws to protect women. However, Conventions, Protocols and laws which are not enforced should be backed by vigorous advocacy. Women groups in the country should form a committee to look into the problem of the trafficking of our young women like Kanni Touray so that they could come back safely to be united with their families. The advocacy group should visit the families of the victims to give them support, approach the Minister for Women affairs to advocate for state intervention, approach relevant embassies where victims are taken and draw attention to the plight of the women. Solidarity is the best vehicle for the promotion of social justice. Silence is the most effective weapon against social justice. If all raise their voices against the evils of the trafficking of our young women no ear could be deaf to their plight. ]]>
