THE RACE FOR 2016 HEATING UP

Political parties in The Gambia are conducting meetings, holding or planning congresses and conventions as we prepare for a decisive presidential election on 1st December 2016.

These events are taking place when a supplementary registration of voters is still being held.

No single Gambian would have a case to argue that one is left out in determining the future of the country.

Teachers, head masters and mistresses and principals who fully comprehend their duties would have by now utilised their their assemblies, notice boards and classrooms to tell every young Gambian who would be 18 years on 1st Decemebr 2016 to go where he/she is born or resides to get a voter’s card which is the sovereign voice and power of a citizen.

Every parent, neighbour, friend and religious leader would have also utilised their influence to encourage every person they know who is entitled to be registered as a voter to go and get a voter’s card if they do not have one.

This is the time when every Gambian should seek to be part of the solution of the problems of The Gambia.

Those who take a stand should be encouraged and those who think they offer a better choice should take a stand. Every Gambian should be involved and no one should be left out. The grand debate on Gambia’s future has started.

Foroyaa is open to all those who wish to take part in this debate so that every Gambian will be capable of making a choice.
