When changes occur it should be followed by the growth of civil societies in order to prevent the use of new powers to oppress others. This is why Foroyaa is calling for civil societies to assume their historic responsibilities if we want peace and tranquility to prevail.
The recent demolition of compounds in Banyaka and the conflict that occurred at the burial ground confirm the need to have civil societies that will educate the public on their rights and duties and prevent all from taking the law into their hands and give due process a chance. We hope the human rights civil societies will rise up to the occasion to prevent conflict among the people.
