According to Section 214 of the Constitution which deals with the directive principle of state policy, it is emphasised that “In the composition of the Government, women shall be fairly represented…..”. The policy of gender mainstreaming in Cabinet is a constitutional directive which could be respected or ignored by a Head of State. The current reality should teach women that they are not receiving any special treatment under the administration as some would want others to believe. Let us call a spade a spade and the truth shall guide our thoughts and actions to overcome challenges and make progress. ]]>
