The Challenges Of Electricity Supply

86

NAWEC, the nation’s utility service provider for electricity and water, has been having shortages of electricity supply in the urban centres. Thus welding and other workshops requiring electricity to reduce productivity.

One of the most frequent reports the paper is receiving is that appliances are being destroyed by power outages. There is need for NAWEC to commence a public relation exercise in explaining what could be the outcome of power outages and how the harmful effect should be addressed.

Government is receiving bad publicity partly because of the inadequacy of electricity supply.

There is need to provide the public with the short, medium and long-term plans aimed at addressing the problem of power outages. Such information if backed with action, would enable the population to temper their expectations with reason.  An urgent response to the demands of the people is needed.
