The Public Relations Officer of the Gambia Police Force Cadet Assistant Superintendent Modou Musa Sisawo has over the weekend reported that the West Coast Regional Task Force has arrested Yusuff Mendy for visa fraud.
The alleged visa scammer was arrested on the 17th of January 2025.
PRO Sisawo said the suspect allegedly collected five hundred and eighty-five thousand dalasis (D585,000) claiming to secure UK visas.
“A search of his residence in Kololi uncovered 49 passports of The Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Guinea, and Senegal, along with ninety thousand dalasis (D90,000) in cash. The suspect also named two accomplices from Brikama who remain at large,” Cadet Assistant Superintendent Sisawo stated.
PRO Sisawo reminds the public to remain vigilant against scams and report suspicious activities to the police.
