Justice Eunice O. Dada of the Banjul High Court has yesterday, 11Alhaji Abdoulie Ceesay, Manager Teranga FM
May, set 13 June, 2016 for adoption of addresses in the criminal
case involving Mr. Alagie Ceesay, the Managing Director of the Sinchu
Alagi based Taranga FM Radio station, who is said to have escaped fromcustody whilst receiving treatment at the Edward Francis Small
Teaching Hospital.
Mr. Ceesay is standing trial on 6 counts of sedition and 1 count
of ‘Publication of False News’ and he pleaded not guilty to all
the charges.
When the case was called, Baffouh Jeng, a state counsel, told the court that
she is not the actual prosecutor of this case.
The trial judge recalled that B. Drammeh appeared for the state in the
case at the last proceedings.
At this juncture, state counsel Baffouh Jeng told the court that B. Drammeh
travelled out of the jurisdiction of this court and based on that she is
applying for an adjournment.
However, Lawyer Combeh Gaye, defence counsel for Mr. Ceesay said it is
correct that B. Drammeh appeared for the state in the last proceedings
and since he is not within the jurisdiction, she is not objecting to
the application for an adjournment.
Subsequently, Justice Dada adjourned the case to 13 June, 2016 at 10
am for adoption of addresses.
