SUPER NAWETTAN ROUND-UP

By Sulayman Bah Sateba Boys Brikama continued their fine start to the Premier Games-Sateba Boy Brikamasponsored Super Nawettan with a hammering of Sukuta. The victory maintains the West Coast Region outfit top position in group B on six solid points.Alieu John Ndure’s charges who sashayed past Gunjur on a 2-1 scoreline at the onset of the competition outlined his charges’ ambition to dethrone champions Serrekunda West to the coveted title. And so, Brikama aren’t holding in making their intentions clear with the walloping of Sukuta, a proving testament. Brikama were fighting it out against SK East as we went to press yesterday. Elsewhere Lamin fired blank with Manjai their first draw in as two matches. They reeled to a flying start in the opener duel easing past Brufut with Hamang Conteh and Ousainou Manneh’s goals doing the damage. It’s no bad game for Lamin –who last term got jettisoned and fined for crowd trouble – after managing a point against a resolute Manjai. They managed to beat West 1-0 in their other group fixture. Bakau, slowly proving draw specialists, last week Friday played out another stalemate affair this time against Serrekunda East.  The match ended on a one-all episode. Serrekunda Central –tournament underdogs –suffered a 3-0 battering to neighbours SK West before making it a double lost on the row with a 1-0 defeat to Brufut.]]>
