Marimoo are on track to make the switch to the country’s top tier after consolidating their spot on top in the Marimoo FCsecond tier.

Victory would have seen the club, renamed from Seaview FC, extend their lead at the summit to four points but were held by second-placed Tallinding United in what was a thrill-never-lacking contest and battle of two clubs in the race for the title, at the Serrekunda East mini-stadium.

Marimoo have played seventeen games –equal amount of matches played by rest of clubs in the division – with eleven matches to go, collecting thirty-five points.

Until the race comes to a definite close, the hot pursuit for the league gong remains tight with four clubs fighting for the available promotion spots.

Eighth-placed Lions of Banjul strolled over BK Milan at the Banjul mini-stadium, beating them 3-2 in a five-goal-thriller duel while Blue Stars applied the brakes on Interior’s title aspirations, condemning them to a shock 2-1 win.

East-Bi enhanced their survival push bullying Red Hawks 1-0 as PSV Wellingara threw sand in Brufut’s promotion drive smashing them by a lone goal at the Brikama mini-stadium while Bakau United sits sixth following a 1-0 win over second-from-bottom Immigration FC.
