Solicitor General Responds To Former GPTC Staff file

By Alhagie F.S Sora The former Gambia Public Transport Corporation (GPTC) staff have beenGPTC bus raising their concerns regarding the payment of their dues through this medium for the line ministries to help in the settlement of their long standing dues since the closure of the GPTC transport company. This reporter again visited the office of the Solicitor General at his office in Banjul on the issue of payment of the said staff yesterday 12 June 2014. Mr. Basiru PU Mahoney, the Solicitor General and the legal secretary said they have done their part on the file and sent it to the Works ministry. “We have done our part and soon the Work’s ministry will solve their issue, “Inshallah” said Solicitor General and Legal Secretary. It could be recalled that the former Gambia Public Transport Corporation which was closed down in 2012, had not paid some of its staff who are still pursuing their dues. The issue was one time discussed at the National Assembly and assurance was given that they would be paid all their entitlements. However, until now this assurance has not materialise.  ]]>
