QUESTION OF THE DAY
Parliament has just awarded 250 Million Dalasis to the Ministry of Health. The tourism Sector received 100 Million. There is no doubt that during a PANDEMIC the medical and health sectors must be given priority.
There is need to do a comprehensive review of the resources available in all Public and private medical facilities, identify how they could serve to fight COVID 19, note the resource gaps and cost them. Priorities should be made to find funding to fill the gaps.
Subsidising medical facilities to retain staff and pharmacies to have annual stocks of needed drugs in the face of growing restrictions and slowdown in the movement of goods and service should be a matter of priority. This could even come in the form of loan or service exchange.
