QUESTION OF THE DAY
The President has declared a state of emergency. There are emergency regulations in force. However , the National Assembly has powers to vet the regulations and to annul any regulation that is considered not to be reasonably justifiable in fighting COVID 19 on the basis of two thirds majority.
This however cannot be done unless there is a meeting of the National Assembly. The National Assembly should monitor the whole period of the implementation of the regulations to determine their effectiveness and to point out any inconveniences suffered by the people.
