Sheikh Cham’s Trial Set for Judgment

10 May 2016 has been set aside for judgment on the case of Sheikh Cham’s obstruction trial by the trial Sheikh Chammagistrate.

In the trial, Sheikh Cham is accused of obstructing a drug law enforcement officer in the performance of his duty. Sheikh Cham’s defence is that he did not obstruct the security officers, rather they beat him up.

At yesterday’s proceedings both defence counsel Lawyer Momodou Drammeh and Prosecutor Jawla were present. The defence had already filed their written brief and the prosecutor will file their brief by Monday 25 April while the reply should be filed by Tuesday 26 April.

Magistrage Nche Blessed will decide on 10 May whether Sheikh Cham is guilty as charged.
