Senegambia Bridge Generates Little over D1B in 3yrs

The Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs Seedy Keita has informed the National Assembly that the Senegambia Bridge generated little over one billion dalasis from 2021-2023 for the country.  

Minister Keita disclosed this on Wednesday March 6, 2024, while responding to a question raised by the Member for Sami constituency, Alfusainy Ceesay. He quizzed the minister to inform the august assembly on how much fund was generated from the aforesaid bridge from 2021-2023 financial years.

“The total amount of funds generated from the Senegambia Bridge from 2021-2023 financial years stand at 1.09 billion. This represents a collection of 285 million in 2021, 389 [million] for 2022 and 411.2 [million] for 2023,” he said.

In his supplementary question, Ceesay asked the minister to disclose where the fund is being utilized. Minister Keita informed the august assembly that the collected fund is paid into the consolidated fund which forms part of the country’s annual budget.
