Goal-scorer Ibou Sawaneh has taken the decision to drop a division down in Belgium signing contract with KSV 
Roeselare.
The Gambia striker penned terms with KSV after deciding to quit Belgium Premier League outfit Waasland-Beveren last week Friday.
The 29-year-old’s switch came much as a shock after it was initially hoped he’d stay with Beveren till expiry of his remaining 12-month deal having seen his proposed transfer to Turkey hit the buffers.
The veteran Scorpion was on the brink of putting the finer details to his move to Istanbul after agreeing in principle with second tier side Sanliurfaspor.
A pictured surfaced of the Gambian posing for the camera and donning Sanliurfaspor’s jersey appearing to sign contractual papers before a dramatic U-turn, triggered by dispute over personal terms with the club, scuppered the transfer.
Waasland, who owned the player at the time had hoped to reap huge sums from Sawaneh’s transfer prior to talks falling through.
The situation left Ibou red-faced after coach Vreven decided to exclude the former Raec Mons attacker from his plans of the season, consequently giving Ibou no time to consider moving to another top tier side with the transfer window already closed within First Division clubs.
However Sawaneh’s club-less moment have been resolved following the forward’s acceptance of second division side KSV Roeselare’s 24-month contract offer.
KSV are aiming to secure promotion this campaign and rates the Gambian high in their efforts to realize their plans. The 29-year-old brings with him experience having played the last eight years of his career in the top flight.
Roeselare drew 2-2 over the weekend with Lierse in their opening fixture. Ibou is tipped to debut on Saturday when they visit Antwerp August 13th.
