By Sulayman Bah Gambian duo Demba Savage and Macoumba Kandji’s FinnishDemba and Kandji giant club Helsinki Tuesday slugged out a goalless affair with the Macedonian domestic champions Rabotnicki. Both Demba and Kandji were included in the line –up starring from start to finish as they led HJK’s attack on the night. But their involvement failed to hand their club any goal advantage despite being favourites prior to the start of the game. Kanji was making his first appearance in a Uefa Champions League qualifier having spent majority of his career in the Major League Soccer and Greece. They host the Macedonian club in a return leg duel at the Sorena stadium July 24th. A win will all but assure them a place in the third round of the tournament qualifiers in which they will have just the play-offs to play for to qualify to the Uefa Champions League group stage. Elsewhere, a step below the CL, Dawda Bah’s MYPA breezed into the second qualifiers of the Europa league after slicing IF of Cyprus 1-0. Dave and co now face Belarus giants Dinamo Minks today.        ]]>
