Defender Bubacarr Sanneh has spoken of his delight at being invited to
the Gambia national team.
The 20-year-old is part of a number of the country’s invited starlets for the South Africa game as Gambia bids to qualify for the Gabon finals.
Voicing delight at his call-up in what will be his third appearance
for the Scorpions, after his debut against Angola 2012, the ex- Real
de Banjul stopper told his club: ‘I am very happy and proud of being
selected in Gambia’s national team. It is always an honor to play for
my country, so I’m really happy. Besides the honor of playing for the
national team, it can also be a good showcase for me in my career’
Bubacarr nicknamed ‘Timber’ has been a big hit for Danish second tier
side AC Horsens in his debut season and for his heroic performances
was recently offered an improved 3-year deal.
The central defender is expected to tighten up what would be a
new-look Scorpions defence line made up of new faces after veterans
Abdou Jammeh and Futty Danso were overlooked.]]>
