The case of Momodou L. Jarju alias Rongo against the Alkalo of Banjulunding has proceeded before a five-member panel of judges led by Chief Justice Hassan B. Jallow at the Supreme Court on Tuesday, 21 December, 2021.

Momodou L. Jarju represented himself whilst the Alkalo of Banjulunding was represented by Counsel Kebba Sanyang and team.

As soon as the case was called, Rongo, the appellant/applicant in this case, announced his presence before the Court, whilst Counsel Kebba Sanyang announced his presence with two other Counsels representing the Alkalo of Banjulunding.

Counsel Kebba Sanyang informed the Court that he was initially served with a notice on the motion with an affidavit of a statement supported with documented evidence, including videos filed on 3 June, 2021 by Rongo, to prove his case against the respondent.

Counsel Kebba Sanyang pleaded with the Court to give him time to go over the motion and the affidavit strongly supported with voluminous documentary evidence filed by Rongo.

The Court granted the application since Rongo did not oppose Counsel Kebba Sanyang’s application. The Court adjourned the case to the next session for continuation to let Rongo move the motion.
