Demba Jarju over the weekend set a personal best timing but fell short of going to the next rounds in the ongoing Rio Paralympics in Brazil.
The 27-year-old finished 7th in the T54 100m race on an 18.82 timing on Friday before taking to the tracks again on Saturday in the 4000m T54 final heat, settling for a 1.25 seconds personal best.
While failing short of the qualification mark, Jarju remains the sole Gambian to have ever reached the Paralympics on back-to-back.
Jarju attained his dream of qualifying for the Summer big event when he clocked a timing of 2.23 in the 800m finishing third best in the qualifiers in Morocco march this year.
