Lamin Mboge, the Chief Executive Officer of Gam Housing Estate Company, faces criminal charges at the Brikama Magistrate Court, regarding the recovery of forteen million, forty thousand, two hundred and five Dalasi (D14,040,205.00).
Mr Mboge appeared before Justice Sheriff B. Tabally sat in for the Magistrate, after obtaining a fiat from the Chief Justice to try this case at the Brikama High Court.
Mr. Mboge has so far denied some of the charges brought against him in Court and is yet to take his plea for the remainder of the charges, which all relate to obtaining money by false pretence.
In all the charges, CEO Mboge is alleged to have defrauded his customers and induced them to pay for plots of land at his estate, when he knew that he was not the owner. That he collected money from his customers for plots of land in Gunjur, Tujereng, Brufut Madiana, Gunjur Medina Salam, Sanyang Seaside, Jambanjelly, Sanyang, Brikama Jamisa, Manduar, Mandinari, Tujereng Daba Marena, Brufut and Jambur, among other places.
Mr. Mboge will continue with his plea-taking and the police (prosecution) will be instructed to open their defence in this case at a later date in the same court.
