By Sulayman Bah Real de Banjul participation in the Confederation of African FootballReal de Banjul participation Champions League is hanging on a knife edge, Foroyaa Sport can report. The Gambian champions were drawn with Liberian league winners Barrack Young Controllers (BYC) in the preliminary round qualifiers. The capital-based outfit has been intensively camping to the extent of deterring its players from playing any part in Super nawettan in a bid to keep a healthy squad free of injuries. But any hope of participating in the Orange Club Championship now looks thin after Real got drawn with BYC of Liberia –a country where Ebola is worst reported. The first-leg is scheduled for Banjul 14th or 15th February 2015 but whether Real will partake in the games remains a mammoth question with Government approval required. Real de Banjul are tight-lipped when reached for comment by Foroyaa Sport yesterday afternoon. ‘They are waiting for approval. A possibility of playing in a neutral ground remain very high on the agenda for the second-leg but that will depend players are properly screened. Writing to Caf may be another option for review,’ an official under anonymous told Foroyaa Sport. ES Setif lie in the wait should Real play and breeze past BYC. FA Cup holders Banjul United have also withdrawn from the Confederation Cup.  ]]>
